Here's the all of 2 Cat Power pictures from the Granada. I liked the venue alot. Hated her lighting set up. And I caught the end of the opener so I know they can crank those lights and make them descent. It's so annoying when an artist uses only red light and its flooded with a gross kind of red.
Everyone who stayed for the entire show said it was amazing. I had to work in the morning so I only stayed and watched a couple more songs after I was done shooting. She was hopping around which I found kind of odd. But everyone has their own quirks.
Here's the other shot.
I'm working on the Eric Church photos. Oh I should have them up soon. Then after that possibly some Fort Worth Symphony Photos. Then Macy Gray. And I shot Mandy Moore last night.
Tonight I'm shooting Buddy Guy. Blues Guitar Legend for those to young to know. And Saturday I am shooting Def Leppard.
Have a good weekend yall!

Little Texas
So here's Little Texas at Billy Bob's. They were surprisingly good.
Um here's a few more
I still have Cat Power and Eric Church to finish up.
And Wednesday I'm shooting Macy Gray and Thursday I'm shooting Mandy Moore. I'm going to see if they'll let me shoot Rachael Yamagata, Mandy's opener, too because she's awesome.

James Blunt
Rufus Wainwright
So finally I got through all the Rufus Wainwright, A Fine Frenzy and Neko case pictures from a couple weeks ago. So I'm playing catch up right now! Rufus was cool, but A Fine Frenzy was definitely more my style.

Backstreet Boys
Backstreet Boys were in studio at Kidd Kraddick today.
They were nice guys, Howie was kinda quiet and Nick I'm pretty sure was ADD but in a funny ammusing way. He was putting with Al's golf club trying to get the ball into this cap that goes on shaving cream or something. What I thought was cool was they have a phone fans can call and they like just gave out the number on air. And Nick actually answered it in the studio and whoever was calling hung up. I guess they got scared?
Here's a few pictures from that and the rest are of course over at http://www.kiddlive.com
They were both very cool and went outside to meet the fans. It's crazy seeing it from their point of view. I'm sure had they had more time it wouldn't have been so rushed and crazy though.
Also I am shooting James Blunt there tomorrow morning. I am almost done with the Rufus Wainwright stuff. I've finished editing A Fine Frenzy and Neko Case, but since they were Rufus' openers I am waiting on finishing his pics before I put them up. So very soon. Then I will work on Little Texas, Cat Power, and Eric Church.

Nothing More Acoustic
A little over a week ago the Nothing More boys put on an amazing acoustic show in San Antonio. I know it took me a billion years to get these photos up but I've had a lot going on so please forgive me.
On to the goods I guess.
Like I said last time I still have A Fine Frenzy, Neko Case, Rufus Wainwright, and Little Texas. I'm supposed to shoot Cat Power tonight. As long as we get photo clearance. And then Saturday I'm shooting Eric Church. Then Monday I'm shooting Nick and Howie of the Backstreet Boys up at Kidd Kraddick. So lots to come.

Rock the Bells
So I shot Rock the Bells Tuesday of last week. It went alright got some descent shots of Pharoahe Monche, Talib Kweli, and Nas. Not a real big fan of the guy in Wu-tang who purposely tried to spill his juice drink to where it would splash on my camera.
I'm just there doing my job trying to follow the rules set by your publicist. Maybe you should tell them to not let photographers shoot your rap group next time if you're going to shower us with juice and guiness. Or hey dont throw beverages on us cause you're getting publicity from us! Strange concept.
Here's some shots below.
Still to come Nothing More, Rufus Wainwright, A Fine Frenzy, Neko Case, and Little Texas.

Marc Cohn
So I got to shoot Marc Cohn at the House of Blues Sunday night. Sorry for the delay in posting. It's been a pretty busy week. Marc was actually better than I thought it would be. He is the writer of the song "Walking in Memphis." And if you don't know that song have you been living under a rock for several years?
He even got shot in the head once. In an attempted car jacking. Like bullet lodged in head. And he walked out of the hospital like the same day. And that makes Marc Cohn like superman.
Anyway here are a few more shots.
Tonight I'm shooting Rufus Wainwright. A Fine Frenzy is one of the openers and I'm hoping to shoot them too. And then tomorrow I'm shooting the band Little Texas.
I should have some stuff from Rock the Bells up soon. And also some Nothing More stuff from their Acoustic show. So stay tuned!

Ozzfest 2007
Well I shot Ozzfest Thursday. And if you know me you know it totally isn't my crowd. So I don't want to even pretend I could give any sort of critique. I just don't get the heavy screaming where you cant understand what they're saying. If you like that sort of thing then that's great. To each their own. Rock out. Try not to kick me in the head when you crowd surf to the front and security pulls you over the barricades is all I ask. (And I almost got landed on in the photo pit security at Smirnoff are awesome. He pushed me back and moved behind me real fast. So giving props to the security guys.)
Static-X as pictured as my main photo were there to play music not put on a pyrotechnics show (See Lordi in the next paragraph) and that's cool. I think they were the most tame of the three bands on the mainstage before Ozzy was on. And they aren't really that tame. But atleast I can understand the words coming out of Wayne Static's mouth.
More at the flickr.
I know I said I couldn't really be a critic but I will say this though. What the heck was with all the pyro technics and gags with the band Lordi? I mean seriously? Sparks flying off every two seconds out of umbrellas, drumsticks, micraphone stands, cannons, you name it. You're supposed to be a metal rock band. And Kiss has already been there and done that.
The last band on before Ozzy was Lamb of God. But they pumped the stage soo full of smoke and didnt use the spotlights enough for me to get any real descent shots. The only real shot I got was of the singer flipping off the crowd and I'm going to spare everyone from that.
Well lastly I shot Marc Cohn tonight. He's the guy who wrote the song "Walking in Memphis" And if you don't know that song... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! It's an awesome song. The country band Lonestar covered it. Dave Barnes does a great cover of it.
But I will have those Marc pictures up soon. If you're in the DFW area it will be in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. So pick it up and check out the Live Section. It tends to be the last page of section B.

Kevin Michael at Kidd Kraddick
So like I said I was going to in the last entry. I went down and shot up and coming artist Kevin Michael for Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. I had a very good time and will definitely do it again in a heartbeat if asked. The behind the scenes gang was hilarious and everyone up there was really nice, I couldn't have asked for a nicer experience.
For more images from the show visit www.kiddlive.com
Peace out!
