Bad Boys of Rock Tour

Papa Roach

Thought it was cool that Jacobee (pretty sure I botched that spelling) from Papa Roach jumped off the stage and walked through the crowd. And I'm learning that some bass players are pretty entertaining. Dont really have to much else to say though!

I apologize for the lack of words. Onto the pretty pictures.

Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, and Jake Owen

Brooks and Dunn

I got to shoot this show a little bit over a week ago. I didn't know that I had clearance for Brooks and Dunn in addition to Alan Jackson, so that was a pleasant surprise. All in all I think this show went pretty smoothly. Not to mention these guys are veterans. You know it's gonna be a good show when you go.

Also I was happy I didn't have deadline till the next morning. It meant I got to go hang out with some of my friends who were doing Merch.

Anyway onto the goods!

This week I'm kind of hoping I get to shoot A Fine Frenzy again with Brandi Carlile, and I know it's a far shot but the Dave Matthews Band would be AMAZING.

Have a good week yall!

Mat Kearney at Kidd Kraddick ladies and gentlemen. Mat was very nice. Talked to him a little bit. His guitar player was super nice too. His name was Tyler! I accidentally called him Taylor. I felt bad. But if he by some grace stumbles across this blog he will see that I now remember his name is Tyler. Tyler also looked kinda like Graham Colton when he sang. It was odd.

Anyway! More at www.kiddlive.com

Also sadly I was supposed to shoot the Killers thursday but I guess they arent allowing photographers on their tour. So if that is in fact the case, that's very crappy of them. It sucks when bands want the press to review a show but dont want to let the press be there to take some pictures to go with the review.

Anywhooo. Here's Buddy Guy! His show was like a religious experience. INCREDIBLE guitar player. If you have the opportunity to go see him. GO!

Fort Worth Symphony

So I shot the Fort Worth Symphony a couple weeks ago when they were doing Mahler. I have to say it was a little strange being backstage at Bass Hall seeing the violin cases laying around. It was very flashback of when I used to play Cello in High School. But still cool none the less.

It was also a plus that I got to shoot the whole show. I always appreciate things like that. Because I know I've said before my loves are Photography and Music. So the fact I get to shoot Music Photography on a regular basis is a dream for me.

So here are those pics.

Def Leppard... rant.

Well.. a picture of the crowd from the photographer pit atleast..... sorry to disappoint. Well I guess it's not so much my fault as it is the bands or manager or whoever was responsible.

I had to sign a ridiculous release that said I couldn't even so much as put the photo's I took in my portfolio .......................................................................

To me that is just to a point of ridiculous. Because what right does a band or their manager whoever is responsible for that form, have to put a photographer in a position where they cant show someone a photo in their portfolio as an example to get hired for a possible job shooting? Are you serious? Is that really using the band for my own personal gain? Not to the level they seem to think. It's more an example of my artistic ability. But hey Def Leppard it's cool you guys can take all the credit for making me a great photographer by standing on the stage and performing.

Def Leppard on stage is why my pictures are good. It apparently has NOTHING to do with my own talent.

There has to be some kind of photographers rights against things like that.

So I just want to say thanks Def Leppard for letting me keep the copyright to my pictures but not letting me even put them in my blog to show people because that's kinda like a portfolio right?? Publicity in a blog.. wow that would suck right?

I might have actually even said something nice too because who doesn't sing along to pour some sugar on me?
